Consumer and Community Involvement in Health and Medical Research

THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL, A WAITLIST APPLIES

Come to a one-day workshop to develop your awareness of the value and contribution consumers and the community can make to research when involved as active partners. 

Develop an understanding and skills on the how and why of implementing consumer and community involvement into your research practice.

The workshop is primarily for researchers and a number of places are open to patients, carers and consumer advocates to share perspectives on the day.  Places are limited so please book ASAP as this workshop will fill. 

Facilitator Anne McKenzie

Anne McKenzie has worked as the Consumer Advocate at The University of Western Australia, School of Population Health and the Telethon Kids Institute since 2004. She is now the Head of the Consumer and Community Health Research Network. The Consumer and Community Health Research Network expands The University of Western Australia School of Population Health and Telethon Kids Institute’s Consumer and Community Involvement Program across the eighteen Western Australian Health Translation Network‘s Partner Agencies. It brings together consumers, community members and researchers to work in partnership to make decisions about health research priorities, policy and practice. Anne was recently awarded an Order of Australia Medal for 20 years of service in the area of health consumer advocacy.
