The VCCC is delighted to kick off the Grand Round Breast Cancer program for 2021, showcasing the latest developments in breast cancer-related research locally, nationally, and globally.

Join to hear from Professor Alastair Thompson, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas who will review the pathology, clinical management, and underlying mechanisms of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast.

Professor Alastair M Thompson
Baylor College of Medicine

Professor Alastair M Thompson is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and holds Fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and American College of Surgeons. Having trained as a clinician scientist and practiced in the United Kingdom for two decades he moved to Houston, Texas in 2014 and is currently Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. As an international leader and specialist in breast cancer, his academic activities span translational laboratory research through clinical trials to implementation of improved practices for women and men with breast cancer.
