We are looking for passionate educators to take overall responsibility for the design, implementation, and delivery of the Cancer Across the Lifespan subject (childbearing years, AYA, paediatric) within the new Master of Cancer Sciences program.

The Master of Cancer Sciences is a landmark collaborative initiative between the VCCC and the University of Melbourne.  It is the first cancer-specific, multidisciplinary, and wholly online Spec Cert, Grad Cert and Master’s program offered in Australia. It is a multidisciplinary program for cancer clinicians from the fields of medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, haematology, nursing, allied health, and other health professions.

Three positions are currently available:

Role requirements

Subject development coordinators will have overall responsibility for curriculum development of the content, learning activities, assessments, and evaluation.

The phases of curriculum development include:

  • Planning
  • Proof of concept (prototype)
  • Design and pre-production
  • Production
  • Quality assurance

The roles will require that successful candidates liaise closely with the course convenors to ensure that the subject meets the over-arching course objectives and provides a seamless, integrated experience as part of the Master’s suite.

You will be responsible for the continuous refinement of the curriculum's structure and content in response to feedback and changing educational methods.

You will ensure all learning events, written and recorded resources are maintained in an optimal form - while working with course convenors to develop an assessment blueprint and lead item development, standard-setting, and item evaluation. You will also coordinate the recruitment of subject matter experts for the working party, teaching faculty, and assessors required for the subject.

Cancer Across the Lifespan subject

Cancer throughout the lifespan will describe the specific factors associated with the care and treatment of children, adolescents, young, middle-aged, and older adults and geriatrics with cancer from the time of diagnosis to the time of death. To address the complex needs of different age group cohorts, there is a need to look at the patient holistically to manage their complex medical conditions. CATL Fig1
