The VCCC alliance brings together 10 of Victoria’s leading research, academic, and clinical institutions aligning with the holistic principles of the internationally-recognised Comprehensive Cancer Centre model.
It is a multi-site, multidisciplinary model that amplifies the complementary strengths of each organisation to improve outcomes in cancer and forge new approaches to cancer research, education, and patient care for all.
Consumers play an important role in assisting individual VCCC alliance organisations - and the alliance itself - to be better at overcoming cancer. If you are interested in becoming involved as a consumer representative with an alliance member, you are welcome to contact them directly.

Consumer participation with the VCCC
The Cancer Consumer Advisory Committee is a Board subcommittee and was established in August 2015 to provide advice to the Executive Director, the VCCC staff team and the VCCC Board on consumer engagement across all dimensions of the work of the VCCC. The committee comprises representatives from VCCC alliance member organisations.
The VCCC Strategic Program Plan 2020-2024 (SPP) will build on the successful work of the VCCC to-date. Comprised of 10 interlinked programs, the SPP will continue to inform collaborative action, particularly in areas where the capabilities of multiple organisations are required to generate the greatest achievement.
Steering Groups - which have clinical, research and consumer representation - will help drive VCCC program implementation to mid-2024. Expression of interest for Steering Group membership is now closed, however, please note that additional opportunities for consumers to participate will be available and advertised throughout 2021.
To keep up-to-date with consumer opportunities, subscribe to the VCCC weekly E-Link newsletter.
