VCCC Grand Round Breast Cancer with Dr Anita Skandarajah

Risk management for women with strong family history: a decade of managing the worried well

All are welcome to this fortnightly meeting showcasing the latest developments in breast cancer-related research locally, nationally and globally.

In the final VCCC Grand Round for 2020, Dr Anita Skandarajah (The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre) will discuss the establishment of the Risk Management Clinic to streamline care and identify the unique needs of women who are at increased risk of developing breast cancer.

Dr Anita Skandarajah is a Breast and Endocrine Surgeon at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She is also a Senior Lecturer at The University of Melbourne. Having completed a breast fellowship at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Women’s and post fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery in Marseille and London, she returned at the end of 2009 to Melbourne.

A collaboration with Professor Geoff Lindeman and Professor Bruce Mann saw the establishment of the Risk Management Clinic in 2010. It is located at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in attempt to streamline the care and identify the unique needs of women at increased familial risk of developing breast cancer.
