Enhance your career as a research leader in 2020

The natural progression if you are successful as a researcher is to become head of your own research lab or group and stop spending time at the bench. You are no longer a scientist; you are a manager of scientists.

The VCCC has partnered with Marlow Hampshire, a progressive and dynamic leadership development group to enable up to 10 talented researchers to take part in a leadership development short course in the first half of 2020. Scholarships for the program are valued at $ 2,100 each.

Program details

The program has been designed specifically to assist the transition of researchers and current research managers into effective leaders of research teams within the culture of a Research Institute or Research Group. The scheme is targeted towards senior postdoctoral researchers and junior laboratory heads and is a 4 day program (2 x 2-day modules).

The opportunity

The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) is offering to support up to 10 individuals from the VCCC alliance involved in cancer research to participate in this program in 2020.  Sponsorship support is valued at $2,100 for each successful candidate.

Eligibility criteria
  • You are currently working in cancer research
  • You are employed by a VCCC alliance member organisation
